Four flagship programmesProgramme 3.1Exposure Visits & Tours
Students are taken on regular visits to farmers’ fields and various agriculture-related industries as part of their course curriculum, providing them with practical exposure and real-world insights. In addition to these regular field/exposure visits, educational tours are organized both within the state and across other regions, broadening students’ knowledge and understanding.
Programme 3.2Rural Agricultural Work Experience Programme (RAWEP)
The Rural Agricultural Work Experience Programme is designed to provide students with a tremendous opportunity to understand farming in rural settings and learn from the experiences of farmers.
Under this programme, final-year students are assigned to a village by the university, where they stay for one semester. During this period, they closely observe and learn farmers’ practices while also providing support and assistance to the farming community. The students work under the guidance of experts from Regional Agricultural Research Stations (RARS), Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), or District Agricultural Advisory and Transfer of Technology Centres (DAATTCs) to ensure effective learning and field-level problem solving.
This programme provides a deep real-world experience to the students and helps them to understand the dynamics of crop production on farm and marketing on field. Also, it helps them to understand the farming aspects in a true socio-economic setting which will equip them to face the challenges they may encounter as future entrepreneurs.
Programme 3.3Agricultural Experiential Learning Programme (AELP)
The Agricultural Experiential Learning Programme (AELP) is structured to provide students with hands-on experience in sustainable agricultural practices and entrepreneurship. Five modules of Experiential Learning Programme are currently offered to the students at NS Agricultural College.

Programme 3.4Agriculture Internship Programme
During their fourth year, B. Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture students have an opportunity to have practical exposure and experience in various fields of agriculture through internship programme. Agriculture internship programme aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge gained in classrooms and real-world applications in the agriculture industry. Students are exposed to a diverse range of companies, each specializing in different aspects of agriculture and allied sectors. This immersive experience allowed them to observe and engage in practical activities, interact with industry professionals, and apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.
The internship programme provides students with a hands-on learning experience that enriches their understanding of agricultural practices. Students actively engage in tasks such as seed sowing, pest and disease management, laboratory analyses, crop monitoring, and machinery operation. Throughout the programme, students interact with industry experts, scientists, and professionals — expanding their knowledge base and establishing valuable connections within the industry.
