DEPARTMENT OF CROP PHYSIOLOGY

In the intricate mosaic of global agricultural systems, the Department of Crop Physiology emerges as an indispensable linchpin, orchestrating the synthesis of plant biological mechanisms with pragmatic agronomic solutions. As anthropogenic pressures—climate volatility, soil degradation, and burgeoning population demands—escalate, this discipline transcends academic abstraction, positioning itself as the vanguard of sustainable food systems. Its mandate encompasses deciphering the physiological, biochemical, and molecular orchestration of crop performance, thereby catalysing innovations that fortify agricultural resilience and productivity.

The Department of Crop Physiology focuses on teaching the students about physiological processes that affect crop growth, development, and productivity. This department studies how plants interact with their environment at the physiological level to optimize agricultural practices, improve crop yields, and ensure sustainability.

The institute has one laboratory of 1650 sq.ft. area under the Department of Crop Physiology having all the basic instruments required for the course which are operated by the students easily. Practical classes include seed viability test, seed germination percentage, chlorophyll index, stomatal index, pot culture experiments, on field observation of nutrient deficiencies in plants, effect of water stress on plants, etc.

Student life

The college provides comprehensive academic support, financial assistance and personalized out reach efforts in order to serve community of students, faculty & staff. In addition, by utilizing highly effective business, administrative and student information systems, the office provides advocacy for the colleges academic departments & programme.
